Baby Sign Language
Most baby sign language classes and courses are based on baby sign language gestures rather than the adult sign language. This makes it easier for the parents to learn and less complicated for the babies to perform. Baby sign language should be learnt at the same rate as the baby so that they are not overwhelmed by too many signs at once. It is recommended to start with a few simple signs until the baby has the dexterity to sign back to the parent. This usually occurs at the age of 9 months. You shouldn’t wait until then to begin using baby sign language; there is much benefit to having your baby understand you through Baby Sign Language from as early as 4 months. Thus, it is recommended to introduce a few signs around 4-6 months of age to see the most benefits.
