Let me tell you about Horse and Rider Awareness
What I like best about Randi Thompson, of Horse and Rider Awareness, is that she is well known as an expert horsewoman, and she can share that her experience with you. She is also very upbeat and able to show me how to have fun, as I stay safe in the training my horse. I think those of us in the over 40 age range, prefer someone who understands how we like to ride. She makes me feel safe and secure. I’ve had horse riding instuctors who are not experienced with safety or teaching. Randi breaks down the information into seperate steps, and helps me get them into my head and bottom. My original goal was to learn how to keep my horse in better balance. He was unsteady on his feet which I knew meant he was out of balance. Along the way of showing Sonny how to keep his balance, I’ve found that my balance also can change his. I think of it as going back to the foundation, or back to the basics. Some of it I have been working on for a long time, but now have a better awareness of how to really do it. It amazes me how many exercises Randi has ready for us to try and how they all seem to be what we need for us to learn what we are trying to improve. My horse is much safer now. His balance and mine is is easier to keep all the time. My horse is happier with in what he is doing, and is more comfortable to ride.
